Brooklyn Bridge at dawn is extraordinary. There is some sort of dynamic energy in that space that only heightens along with your senses as the first colors of light streak through the sky. Your eyes start adjusting to the changing lights of cars, the horizon, and eventually the sun. Muffled car noise eventually grows to a point where you almost start yelling to one another. It’s a mad frenzy to get that light, that setting, that deserted background. And you rush all the more loving every second of exhilaration of being there in that space at that moment.
When Prisca and David decided to go to the city for their engagement shoot, it couldn’t have been at a better time. After our last time there, we had been seeking a proper excuse to go back. And finally excited to have gotten one!
Prisca and David are complete naturals in front of the camera and they dived right in. Brooklyn Bridge speaks all things dramatic to us and we watched them easily embody it through the first part of the shoot. It could be challenging, but you’d never guess that looking through the photos. Later in the morning we decided to relax the tone and explore Dumbo neighborhood. The timing was perfect to let their goofy sides come out and after a cup of (very strong!) coffee, it was time to essentially let loose!
It’s amazing to be able to do what you love with people you admire in places you are passionate about. This shoot speaks to it all! Prisca and David – thank you bringing us out and for a truly spectacular shoot! We can’t wait to do it all over again in just a few short months!
